BioVeritas, LLC., a leading sustainable fuels and biochemicals company redefining the future of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), today announced that Stephen Toon, chief operations officer, will present at The Global Synthetic Biology Conference, known as SynBioBeta, on May 7, 2025 in San Jose, California. Dr. Toon will speak in the Biomanufacturing Scale Up Breakout Panel at 4:30PM PST at the San Jose Convention Center.
Dr. Toon will join fellow experts for a panel discussion, “Continuous Fermentation – How Close is it to Reality?” The panel will focus on innovation in continuous fermentation, and specifically how continuous fermentation has significant potential to lower the cost of biomanufacturing. The group of industry experts will dig into the state of technology development and potential paths to implementation.
“Continuous fermentation is rapidly moving from lab success to commercial workhorse,” said Dr. Steve Toon. “By running bioreactors around the clock, we can drive down unit costs, squeeze every bit of value from renewable feedstocks, and accelerate the rollout of drop-in sustainable aviation fuel, among other bio-based commodities. Managing a living, evolving microbial culture brings a host of new challenges that require both deep technical expertise and creativity to address. The upside is an opportunity to create almost unparalleled value.”
BioVeritas, LLC is a portfolio company of Ara Partners, a private equity firm specializing in industrial decarbonization investments.
